Hi Boris Kovač,

I’m in Makarska from 19th to 26th September 2019 with my wife’s hill-walking group. We’re staying at the Hotel Biokovo but I’m not hill-walking.

I’m a qualified paraglider since 1995 with 350+ hours and IPPI 4* rating. I’ll be bringing in Advance Epsilon 7-30 glider with me and I’d like to make arrangements to fly with you when I’m in Makarska. I’m 70 years old and, unfortunately, I’m no longer able to carry my rucksack up the high mountains so I need a lift to take-off and retrieve at the end of the day.

Please could you let me know if you can make such arrangements and what your charges are for driving me to take off and for retrieving me at the end of the day as well as basic site guiding for the 6 days from 20th to 25th September? I would need to be collected from and dropped back to Hotel Biokovo each day. I have full insurance including Public Liability and Personal Accident cover.

If you cannot provide this service please could you provide email addresses and mobile phone numbers for local paraglider pilots who might be able to assist me?

Ima se do Przinovca na Biokovu hodati 15-20min po putu koji je malo zahtjevniji za 70 godisnjaka. Vjerojatno ce morati imati i posla sa Besom koji je razlog zasto neki ne zele ici doli.

How is flying in Makarska now a days?

Im coming to Pogdora 8-15.9.2023 with my family, thinking to take my glider with me and fly like 1-2 days.

Is there any active pilots near by or tandem flyers, who can share ride with me.

Or some good xc place near what are easy to reach(day trip)?

Is there anything special what i need to know about flying?
Official take off places i can find from internet.

Go to Ljubuški. It's just 50 km from Podgora. More local pilots. Better XC flying. Not so nice view like from Biokovo but you will enjoy for sure and avoid crowd's on Biokovo. You can find them on web or fb (Paragliding Ljubuški). You can make nice one day trip with family and explore inland...it's just across border...

No active local pilots in Makarska as I know. Just tourists like you. Closest pilots are in Vrgorac and Ljubuški.

Summer Biokovo flying got nearly shut down since Skywalk opened, as there are crowds and they are limiting number of vehicles they are allowing in (to like 10/h, 20/h, some small number). So it's expensive and impractical. Not sure about landing options also, as there was some development.

When it comes to coastal sites, reasonable candidate may be Omis, but during the summer crowds + traffic really make it a hassle.

Finally i founded somebody from xcontest who gave me some tips how to hike to take off and that was everything what i needeed.

Beatifull place and possible to fly 100km triangel if weather is good, no need to drive another spot if you are holiday and wanna fly
